Betty demonstrates how to make Smooth and Golden Almond Butter. This is made in a very powerful blender (Blendtec), and the recipe may not be appropriate for a less-powerful blender.
Raw almonds | 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) | |
Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon ((or to taste)) |
MAKING
1. In blender, drop almonds, cover with lid, and blend on high speed until it transforms into almond butter.
2. Scrape down sides, add salt and blend for a few seconds or until butter is of desired consistency.
3. Transfer butter into a bowl.
SERVING
4. Serve almond butter with graham crackers.
TIPS
Put it in an airtight container, and place it in refrigerator for later use.
You can use almond butter instead of peanut butter for preparing cookies and other desserts.
