Fat Free Roux
|All purpose white flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
1) In a cast iron skillet or Dutch oven, add 1 cup flour.
2) Place in the oven at 400 degrees F till well browned like the color of a copper penny.
3) Keep stirring the mix at regular intervals of about 15 minutes.
4) You can choose to brown upto 3-4 cups of flour at a time.
5) Store in a quart canning jar or any well-sealing container.
6) Use to thicken stews or gravies.
