Apple Butter

Ingredients

Apples 5 Pound (15 Medium Sized)
Cider 1 1/2 Quart
Sugar 1 1/2 Pound (3 Cups)
Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
Allspice 1 Teaspoon
Cloves 1 Teaspoon
Nutmeg 1/4 Teaspoon

Directions

GETTING READY

1) For this dish, choose firm tart cooking apples.

2) Wash the apples and slice. Do not seed, peel pr core.

MAKING

3) In a saucepan, add apple and cider. Boil for 15 minutes until done.

4) Force the mixture through sieve. Measure 3 quarts pulp.

5) Pour the pulp into saucepan and boil for 1 hour stirring occasionally until thick.

6) Add spices and cook slowly for 3 hours stirring frequently until thick.

7) Transfer into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/4-inch head space..

8) Seal immediately.

SERVING

9) Serve as desired.
