Orange-Flavored Peanut Butter Bread

Ingredients
  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Peanut butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Shortening 1 Tablespoon
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Milk 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)
  Orange rind 1 Teaspoon, grated
  Raisins 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Sift flour, measure and resift 3 times with baking powder, sugar and salt.
Add peanut butter and shortening and cut into dry ingredients with a fork until mixture is crumbly.
Beat egg, add milk and orange rind and add all at once to the flour mixture.
Beat until well mixed.
Stir in raisins.
Pour into well-greased loaf pan 8" x 4" x 2 1/2".
Bake in a moderate oven, 350° F for 60 to 70 minutes or until loaf tests done.
Cool on wire rack.
Makes 1 loaf.
