Culinary Uses of Cilantro Leaf

Cilantro leaves are used in curries, chutneys, and pickles. In Southwestern US and Mexico, they are used in everything from salads, salsas, and burritos to meat dishes. The herb can be chopped, crushed with mortar and pestle or made into a paste in order to release wonderful flavor. Chopped cilantro leaves make ideal garnish for cooked food as heat tends to diminish their flavor. Hence, the only thing to remember while using cilantro in cooking is to add it to the dish only at the very end.
