Vinegar Boosts Good Cholesterol - Its True

New research says that “A spoonful or two of vinegar boosts good cholesterol “– it’s true too.

 


The Daily Mail reports that clinical trials were conducted on 120 people, by the researchers at University of Minnesota. Half of the people were given vinegar and other half were given placebo which was prepared by mixing 2% balsamic vinegar solution in water. Researchers have found that people who consumed apple cider vinegar for straight eight weeks enjoyed heightened levels of HDL compared to those who were administered on placebo containing 2% balsamic vinegar solved in water.  

 


Apple cider vinegar is generally used in preparation of various dishes. It is a well known kitchen remedy for gouts and arthritis. It has shown ability to curb appetite and lower blood sugar levels.

 


During a study conducted on diabetic animals, it was found that apple cider vinegar inhibited the production of bad cholesterol and promoted good cholesterol. Apple cider vinegar is rich in pectin, which is a complex form of carbohydrate found in many plant cells. The pectin is known to inhibit bad cholesterol and regulate blood pressure.

 


It is believed that The Father of Medicine - Hippocrates, promoted apple cider vinegar in 400 B.C. for it purported health benefits. It is said Hippocrates relied on apple cider vinegar and honey to churn out various medicines.


The fresh ripe apples are fermented and subjected to high profile processing during the preparation of apple cider vinegar. The apple cider vinegar is rich source of vitamins, pectin, beta-carotene, and vital minerals such as sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, sulphur, chlorine, iron, and fluorine.




Apple cider vinegar is considered as one of most potential calcium supplements because it extracts calcium from the cells of the vegetables, meat and a fruit, with which it is mixed. Other than that apple cider vinegar is packed with potassium, and is found to help in eliminating toxic wastes from the body. As you know , potassium deficiency may weaken your finger nails, lead to hair loss, or may even subject you to sinusitis. The beta-carotene present in the vinegar negates the bad effects of free radicals, and gives you soft and supple skin. Apple cider vinegar is also recommended to those who want to lose weight. It tackles fat cells with ease and aids in natural weight reduction.

 


No wonder that scientists and nutritionists lovingly call this apple cider vinegar a "Wonder Drug"!
