Vegetarians tend to be more intelligent than meateaters, a study shows.It reveals that those who strick to a diet of fruit and vegetables are more likely to gain a degree and hold down a good job.Researchers say it is not clear why vegetarians are cleverer. It could be that intelligent people are more likely to shun meat or that a fruit and veg rich diet could some how boost brain power. The study tracked the fortunes of more than 8000 volunteers over 20 years .The research by the University of Southamption showed that vegetarians tend to have lower blood pressure and lower cholesterol, cutting their risk of heart attacks and are less likely to be obese. Alternatively, a diet rich in fruit ,vegetables and whole grains could boost brain power.

A diet rich in fruits and veggies is naturally high in fiber and low in fat, which lowers cholesterol and makes it easier to maintain a healthy weight. Plus, offering kids a diet stocked with a variety of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains teaches them nutritious eating habits that can last for a lifetime. The main thing is to eat a balanced diet no matter your preferance of living vegan, vegetarian, omnivore lifestyle. I think our bodies also tell us what is right for us. I prefer seafood and chicken, rarely eat beef, but enjoy lamb and goat. For me variety is important.
