Funnel cake or funnelcake, a confectionary from the Pennsylvanian Dutch cuisine is made by passing unleavened sweet batter, mostly choux pastry through a funnel into hot oil in circles and frying till golden brown. A funnel cake smeared with powdered sugar or jam makes a delicious snack.
