This homemade meringue recipe is a very easy recipe for making meringues. Prepared with egg whites, sugar and cream of tartar, the homemade meringue is flavored with vanilla and slow baked in the oven. Use them to decorate cakes or desserts of choice.
Ingredients
  Egg whites 2
  Cream of tartar 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Salt To Taste
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vanilla 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

GETTING READY
1.Start by preheating the oven to 275F degrees
MAKING
2.In a bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar and salt until stiff but not dry.
3.Add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff after each addition.
4.Fold in vanilla.
5.Heap in rounds or press through a pastry bag onto baking sheet covered with heavy ungreased paper.
6.Bake in slow oven for 40 to 60 minutes or until lightly browned.
7.Remove at once from paper.
SERVING
8.Serve with whipped cream
