Irish Mutton Stew
|Mutton leg||500 Gram, cut into 1 inch cubes|
|Cinnamon stick||1 , broken in pieces|
|Ginger pieces||8 , thinly sliced|
|Celery stick||1 , cut into 1 inch pieces|
|Button onions||100 Gram, skinned|
|Peeled sliced potatoes||1 Cup (16 tbs) (thick slices)|
|Thickly sliced carrots||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Thickly peeled and sliced turnips||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Dried french beans||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Shelled green peas||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Microwave the mutton in a covered dish with cinnamon, peppercorns, ginger, celery, onions and bay leaf for 10 minutes stirring once in between.
Stir in all the other ingredients upto salt, and microwave on 70% power for 30 minutes or until mutton is tender, stirring in between two or times.
Let it stand for 5 minutes.
Mix cornflour with milk and sugar and stir it into the mutton mixture.
Microwave for 10 minutes at 50% power stirring in between several times so that the mixture does not get lumpy.
This process can be done on a stove also.
