Spices Apple Crisp

Ingredients
  Firmly packed brown sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  All purpose flour 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Old fashioned rolled oats 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Ground cinnamon 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Butter/Margarine 6 Tablespoon (Firm)
  Tart apples/Firm ripe pears 6 Cup (96 tbs), cored, peeled and thinly sliced
  Lemon juice 1 Tablespoon
  Whipped cream/Ice cream / cheddar cheese slice 1 Cup (16 tbs), whipped
Directions

In a small bowl, stir together flour, sugar, oats, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Cut butter into small pieces and, with a pastry blender or two forks, cut into flour mixture until crumbly; set aside.
In a 2 quart casserole, toss together apples and lemon juice.
Sprinkle flour mixture over apples.
Microwave, uncovered, on HIGH (100%) for 11 to 13 minutes (rotating dish 1/4 turn after 5 minutes) or until apples are fork tender.
Let stand, uncovered, for 5 minutes before serving.
Serve warm.
Or cool and refrigerate; bring to room temperature before serving.
Top with whipped cream, ice cream, or cheese slices, if desired.
