|Milk||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Potatoes||1 3⁄4 Pound (Peeled)|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Slice onions length-wise and cut in 1 in lengths soak in milk and add 1/2 oz tsp salt.
Cover potatoes with water add remaining salt, and boil until tender for mashing.
Boil onions in milk, add butter, and simmer until tender.
Drain potatoes very dry, mash, and add cooked onions, pounding them thoroughly into the potatoes.
Continue mashing and pounding until potatoes are fluffy and onions entirely absorbed add pepper, and additional salt and milk if necessary.
Servevery hot with a pool of melted butter in the middle of each serving.
