Quick Swedish Meatballs
|Ground beef||1 Pound|
|Egg||1 , beaten|
|Fine bread crumbs||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Dry onion soup||1 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Water||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Parmesan cheese||1 Tablespoon|
Mix beef with egg, crumbs, sage, salt, pepper and milk.
Shape into 12 balls.
Brown on all sides in hot fat in skillet.
Mix onion soup with 3 cups water; thicken slightly with flour mixed to a smooth paste with cold water.
Pour over meatballs.
Cover; cook over low heat for 15 minutes.
Serve over rice or noodles; sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
May also be used for hors d' oeuvres by making small meatballs
