Winter Fruit Crumble With Ginger

Ingredients
  Pears 4 Large, peeled, thinly sliced (4 Cups / 1 Liter)
  Apples 4 Large, peeled, thinly sliced (4 Cups / 1 Liter)
  Chopped walnuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (125 Ml)
  Raisins 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (125 Ml)
  Chopped preserved ginger 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (50 Ml)
  Ground ginger 1⁄2 Teaspoon (2 Ml)
  Orange juice 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (125 Ml)
  All purpose flour 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) (175 Ml)
  Packed brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (125 Ml)
  Cold butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (125 Ml)
Directions

In large bowl, stir together pears, apples, walnuts, raisins, sugar, preserved ginger and ground ginger.
Spoon into greased 8 cup (2 L) baking dish and smooth top.
Drizzle with orange juice.
Topping: In small bowl, blend flour with sugar; cut in butter until in coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle over fruit.
Bake in 400°F (200°C) oven for 45 to 55 minutes or until topping is crisp and fruit is tender.
