Ingredients
  Red cabbage head 1 Medium, cut or sliced
  Tart green apples 2 , peeled and cut up
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
  Onion 1 Medium, sliced
  Water 1 Quart
  Red wine vinegar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Cloves 2
  Bay leaf 1
  Lemon 1⁄2 , juiced
Directions

Heat butter in large saucepan, saute onion and apples for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add water, vinegar and seasonings; bring to a boil and add cabbage.
Cover and simmer for 45 minutes, or until tender.
Use a slotted spoon to serve.
