Stroganoff Sandwiches

Ingredients
  Ground beef/Ground turkey 1 Pound
  Chopped green onion 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Dairy sour cream 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Worcestershire sauce 1 Teaspoon
  Garlic powder 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  French bread loaf 1 (Unsliced)
  Butter/Margarine 1 Tablespoon, softened
  Tomatoes 2 , sliced
  Green pepper 1 , cut into rings
  Shredded american cheese 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

In skillet cook meat and onion till meat is browned; drain.
Stir in sour cream, worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and 3/4 teaspoon salt.
Heat through; do not boil.
Meanwhile, cut bread in half lengthwise.
Place halves, cut side up, on baking sheet.
Broil 4 to 5 inches from heat for 2 to 3 minutes or till toasted; spread lightly with butter or margarine.
Spread the hot meat mixture on toasted bread.
Halve tomato slices and green pepper rings; arrange tomato and green pepper alternately atop meat mixture.
Broil for 5 minutes.
Sprinkle with cheese; broil about 2 minutes longer.
Slice to serve.
