Corned Beef and Cabbage

Here is a simple and satisfying meal that you don't need to Irish to enjoy. This is the basic classic recipe, feel free to mix it up with your own favorite veggies.

Ingredients

Corned beef 750 Gram
Ground black pepper 1 Tablespoon
Ground allspice 1 Teaspoon
Bay leaves 2
Carrot 3 , roughly chopped (((½ lb / 250g)))
Onion 2 Small , roughly chopped (((½ lb / 250g)))
Potato 3 Medium , roughly chopped (((1lb / 500g)))
Celery stalk 2 , roughly chopped
Cabbage head 1/2
Water 3 Liter (((2

Directions

MAKING

1. Into a large Dutch oven, place the corned beef, allspice, bay leaves, and pepper.

2. Pour water, and bring to a boil over high heat. Cover, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 hours.

3. Add the carrots, onions, potatoes and celery. Increase the heat and cook uncovered for 15 minutes.

4. Add the cabbage, cover and cook for an additional 15-20 minutes or just until potato and cabbage are tender. Remove and discard the bay leaves.

SERVING

5. Serve hot and enjoy!
