Apple Oats Crisp
|Tart cooking apples||4 Large|
|Flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Rolled oats||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), firmly packed|
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Peel and core apples, and place in greased shallow baking dish.
If apples are dry and not at their prime flavor, sprinkle with a little lemon juice.
Combine flour, rolled oats and sugar, and-blend in butter or margarine (with 2 knives or with fingers).
Mixture will have rough, crumbly 'appearance.
Cover apples with this topping, and bake, uncovered, at 375 Ã‚Â°F. 30Ã¢â‚¬â€40 minutes or until fruit is quite tender and top crisp and nicely browned.
Serve warm with cream or ice cream.
