Unstretched Strudel Dough
|Flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs), sifted|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Ice water||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
1 Preheat the oven to 350° F.
2 In a bowl, sift the flour, salt and baking powder.
3 Create a well in the center and drop the egg, water and oil into it.
4 Gently work into the flour and knead until smooth and elastic.
5 Cover with a warm bowl for 30 minutes.
6 Roll out as thin as possible.
7 Evenly spread with one of the fillings.
8 Carefully roll up in a jelly roll fashion.
9 Lightly brush with oil or melted butter.
10 Bake for 45 minutes.
11 Cut into 1-inch slices while hot and use as desired.
