Poppy Seed Strudel
|Strudel dough||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Poppy seeds||1 Cup (16 tbs), ground|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Grated lemon rind||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Raisins||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Melted butter||2 Tablespoon|
Combine poppy seeds, sugar, lemon rind and milk in the top of a double boiler.
Cook over hot water until slightly thickened.
Add raisins and cool.
Prepare and stretch strudel dough accord- ing to directions.
Brush with melted butter.
Spread poppy seed mixture over 2/3 of the dough.
Roll up tightly and place on a baking sheet.
Bake in a moderate oven (350°F.) 45 minutes or until browned.
