Welsh Rarebit

Ingredients
  Bread slice 8
  Butter 6 Tablespoon
  Cheddar cheese 3⁄4 Pound
  Ground mace 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Mustard powder 1 Pinch
  Beer 5 Tablespoon
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

Preheat the oven to 400°.
Toast the bread, and butter the slices while still hot.
Place on baking sheet.
Cut the cheese into small cubes and put in a saucepan with mace, mustard and beer.
Cook over a low heat, stirring with a wooden spoon, until cheese melts and is thick and creamy.
Spread mixture over toast.
Sprinkle generously with pepper and bake for 10 minutes.
Serve immediately.
