Chocolate Meringues

Ingredients
  Egg whites 2
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
  Semisweet chocolate pieces 6 Ounce (1 Cup)
Directions

Beat egg whites with salt until stiff, but not dry.
Add sugar 1 tablespoon at a time, beating for 2 minutes after each addition.
Mixture should be very stiff and satiny.
Stir in vanilla and fold in chocolate.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in preheated slow oven (300°F.) for about 25 minutes.
Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
