Swiss Potato And Leek Gratin

Ingredients
  Potatoes 2 1⁄2 Pound, peeled
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
  Leek 3⁄4 Pound, cleaned and thinly sliced
  Swiss cheese 2 Cup (32 tbs), grated
  Eggs 3 , well beaten
  Milk 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1 Pinch, freshly grated
  Swiss cheese/Gruyere cheese 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), grated
Directions

GETTING READY
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F; apply a coat of butter to a two-quart casserole or baking dish

MAKING
2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the piotatoes in it till tender; drain them well and cut into slices an eighth of an inch in thickness
3. In a small skillet, melt butter and add sliced leeks and saute for five minutes until they turn golden
4. In the baking dish prepared, add alternating layers of potatoes, leeks and swiss cheese and make sure you end with a layer of potatoes
5. In a bowl, beat eggs, milk, salt and nutmeg and pour it over the mixture and sprinkle the cheese on top
6. Bake in the oven fro almost half an hour until the eggs are set and the top turns a golden colour

SERVING
7. Serve as required
