Chocolate Finnish Cake

Ingredients
  Sweet cooking chocolate 4 Ounce
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Eggs 5
  Lemon flavoring 1 Teaspoon
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Flour 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Chopped almonds 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vanilla ice cream 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Apricot halves 1 Tablespoon
  Toasted slivered almonds 1 Tablespoon
  Chocolate curls 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Melt chocolate over hot water.
Cream shortening and butter in large mixing bowl.
Add sugar gradually; cream well.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in flavorings.
Sift flour, bak- ing powder and salt together; add to sugar mixture alternately with milk.
Stir in chopped almonds; pour into large greased ring mold or bundt pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Cool for 10 minutes; remove from mold.
Cool.
Place on cake plate.
Fill center of cake with ice cream.
Garnish with apricots, sliced almonds and chocolate curls.
