Savory Slow Cooked Grains
|Brown rice||1 Cup (16 tbs) (Uncooked)|
|Wild rice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Uncooked)|
|Green lentils||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Uncooked)|
|Chopped fresh mushroom||8 Ounce (3 Cups)|
|Coarsely chopped carrots||1 Cup (16 tbs) (2 Medium Ones)|
|Chopped green onions||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) (12 Medium Ones)|
|Roasted vegetable stock/Chicken broth||32 Ounce (4 Cups)|
|Tamari sauce||2 Tablespoon|
|Dry sherry||2 Tablespoon (If Desired)|
|Butter/Margarine||2 Tablespoon, melted|
|Dried thyme leaves||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Garlic salt||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Chopped walnuts||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), toasted|
|Finely chopped parsley||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
1 In a 3 1/2 to 4 quart slow cooker mix all the ingredients except walnuts and parsley.
2 Cover and cook on low heat setting for 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 hours or until the grains are tender.Stir before serving.
3 Sprinkle with walnuts and parsley before serving.
