Russian Onions and Mushrooms
|Chopped onion||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Butter/Bacon fat||2 Tablespoon|
|Mushrooms||1 Pound, sliced|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Dairy sour cream||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
Simmer onions in butter until golden.
Add mushrooms and seasonings and cook slowly for 10 minutes.
Add flour, stir; add sour cream slowly and simmer for another 10 minutes.
Serve with steak or roast beef as a luncheon dish.
Also good in tiny cream-puff shells as hot appetizers.
