Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), melted
  Sugar 2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)
  Eggs 4 , well beaten
  Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
  Sifted all purpose flour 2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)
  Chopped blanched almonds 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Currants 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), dried
Directions

Melt butter and stir in sugar.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Add flour and stir until well blended.
Spread dough in 2 greased and floured 8-inch square pans.
Sprinkle dough with almonds and currants.
Press into dough lightly.
Bake in preheated moderate oven (375°F.) for 30 to 35Melt butter and stir in sugar.
