Apple Meringue Pudding

  Toasted bread 2
  Apples 1 Dozen
  Sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Eggs 3 , separated
Directions

Cover the bottom and sides of a baking pan with toasted bread, moistened with hot milk.
Core apples and cook them whole; sweeten with sugar and flavor with nutmeg.
Beat the yolks of eggs together with a little sugar and pour over the apples.
Place apples on toast, then cover with the stiffly beaten egg whites.
Bake at 325°F 15 minutes.
