Cherry Soup Scandinavian
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Ground cloves||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Pitted bing cherries||4 Cup (64 tbs) (Fresh / Frozen)|
|Cornstarch||1 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Heavy cream||2 Tablespoon (Adjust Quantity As Needed)|
Combine in a saucepan the water, sugar, lemon, cinnamon, and cloves.
Bring to a boil and add cherries.
Bring to a boil again and cook gently for about 2 minutes.
Blend cornstarch and water and stir into cherries.
Stirring gently, bring to a boil again.
Cook until sauce thickens slightly and clears.
Remove lemon slices.
Add a few drops of food coloring if you wish.
Serve as first course, or as dessert with cream.
