Barbecued Steaks And Beans

Ingredients
  Beef steaks 1 Pound
  Onion 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), chopped
  Cooking oil 1 Tablespoon
  Canned pork and beans 16 Ounce
  Bottled barbecue sauce 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Garlic salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Dried oregano leaves 1⁄2 Teaspoon, crushed
  Shredded sharp process american cheese 1 Ounce
Directions

In 10-inch skillet brown the steaks with onion in oil 1 minute per side. (Electric skillet 350°.)
Add beans, barbecue sauce, garlic salt, and oregano.
Reduce heat (220°).
Cover; simmer 10 minutes.
Sprinkle with cheese.
Cover; heat just till cheese melts.
