Tart Apple Crumble
|All purpose flour||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs) (Half Butter)|
|Peeled sliced tart apples||4 Cup (64 tbs) (6 Medium Ones)|
Combine flour and brown sugar and cut in shortening to make a crumbly mixture.
Arrange sliced apples in bottom of greased shallow baking dish (10 x 6 1/2 x 2 inches), sprinkle sugar mixture over top and bake in moderate oven (375° F.) for about 30 minutes, or until top is golden brown and crunchy and apples are tender.
