Family Swiss Steak

Ingredients
  Steak 2 Pound (Swiss / Family / Round)
  Flour 2 Tablespoon
  Oil/Shortening 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Canned mushroom stems and pieces 4 Ounce (1 Can, Undrained / 1/2 Cup)
  Onion 1 Large, sliced
  Tomato juice 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Cut steak into 6 pieces.
Coat with flour.
Brown on both sides in hot oil in large fry pan.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Add mushrooms with liquid, onion and tomato juice.
Cover tightly.
Simmer on top of range or bake at 350° for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
