Green Beans with Swiss Cheese Sauce
|Butter||1 Tablespoon, melted|
|Milk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Grated onion||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Sour cream||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Small whole green beans||2 Pound, drained|
|Shredded swiss cheese||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Cornflake crumbs||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), combined with 1 tablespoon melted butter|
|Melted butter||1 Tablespoon (To Combine With 1 Crumbs)|
In a small pan, blend thoroughly with melted butter the flour, salt, sugar, and pepper; cook, stirring, until bubbly.
Blend in milk.
Remove from heat and stir in onion and sour cream until well mixed.
Combine sauce with green beans and cheese and turn into a buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole.
Spread buttered cornflake crumbs on top.
Bake, uncovered, in hot oven (400°) for about 20 minutes.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
