Ye New Irish Stew

Ingredients
  Boneless lamb 1 Pound, cut into 3/4 inch pieces
  Onion 1 Medium, cut into thin wedges
  Instant beef bouillon granules 1 Tablespoon
  Dried thyme 1⁄2 Teaspoon, crushed
  Dried basil 1⁄4 Teaspoon, crushed
  Bay leaf 1
  Potatoes 2 Medium, peeled and quartered
  Carrots 3 Medium, sliced 1/2 inch thick
  Cornstarch 1 Tablespoon
  Cold water 1 Tablespoon
Directions

In a 3-quart casserole stir together the lamb, onion, bouillon granules, thyme, basil, 1 3/4 , cups water, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Add bay leaf.
Micro-cook, covered, on 100% power (HIGH) 7 to 8 minutes or till bubbly; stir.
Reduce power to 50% (MEDIUM).
Micro-cook, covered, 20 minutes, stirring after 10 minutes.
Stir in the potatoes and sliced carrots.
Micro-cook, covered, on 50% power (MEDIUM) about 20 minutes or till lamb is done and vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring once.
Remove bay leaf.
Stir together cornstarch and water, then stir into lamb mixture.
Micro-cook, uncovered, on 100% power (HIGH) 2 to 3 minutes or till thickened and bubbly, stirring once.
Reduce power to 50% (MEDIUM).
Micro-cook, uncovered, 2 minutes, stirring every minute.
