Braised Fresh Cucumbers

Ingredients
  Cucumbers 4 , pared and thinly sliced to make 6 cup
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Bacon slices 3 , diced
  Sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Non caloric liquid sweetener 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Cider vinegar 1 Tablespoon
Directions

1. In small bowl, layer cucumbers, sprinkling with salt. Refrigerate, covered, 30 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, in large skillet, saute bacon until crisp; drain well.
3. Add cucumbers, drained thoroughly, and remaining ingredients; stir to mix well.
4. Cook, covered and over low heat, 10 to 12 minutes.
