Ingredients
Whole wheat flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Cardamom 1⁄2 Teaspoon, ground
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Honey 1 Tablespoon
  Yogurt/Buttermilk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Stir the dry ingredients together.
Beat the honey and buttermilk into the beaten egg; gradually pour this mixture into the dry ingredients. The combined mixture will be dry like a yeast bread dough. Blend it with your hands to work all of the flour in. If it is too dry, add a little buttermilk; if too wet, add more whole wheat flour.
Knead the bread for about 5 minutes, then shape into a flat but round loaf.
Place the loaf on an oiled baking sheet; cut two parallel slashes in the dough about 1/2 inch deep. This allows the dough to rise during baking without cracking.
