Crispy Apple Bake

This healthy apple crisp recipe is quick, simple, low in sugar, oil free and almost fat free. The only fat comes from the oats and the walnuts, which are healthy fats. This is a healthy vegan recipe you can cook on the stove if you don't have an oven, or bake for a true apple crisp. Phil and I are in Croatia right now, and we picked up a huge bag of apples at the local store. With so many sitting around, and with a hankering for something sweet, I came up with this simple apple crisp that I cooked on our stove. It was a great treat that we enjoyed out on our balcony overlooking the gorgeous Adriatic Sea with the late afternoon sun pouring in.
Ingredients
  Apples 2 , chopped
  Fruit juice 1 Tablespoon
  Water 3 Tablespoon
  Allspice mix/Cinnamon 1⁄4 Teaspoon (Cinnamon/Nutmeg)
  Unrefined sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Rolled oats 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Whole grain flour 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (If You Are Using Quick Oats, Do Not Add Flour)
  Unrefined sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Allspice mix/Cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon (Cinnamon/Nutmeg)
  Water 6 Tablespoon (Just Enough To Bring The Mix Together)
  Flaked coconut 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Unsweetened)
  Walnuts 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Stovetop Directions:
1.Put the apples, along with the juice, water, cinnamon and sugar in a pot on medium heat. Meanwhile, stir together in a bowl the oats, flour (if using), sugar, cinnamon and any other additions you want to make to your topping. Add just enough water to bring the mix together.
2.Spoon the topping over the apples and put a lid on the pot. Leave this to cook for 5-10 minutes, being careful not to let the water at the bottom of the pot evaporate. If it does, just add a couple more tablespoons of water. Serve hot with a cup of green tea.
Oven Directions:
1.Heat the oven to 300 degrees F. Put the apples, along with the juice, water, cinnamon and sugar in a baking dish.
2.Stir together in a bowl the oats, flour (if using), sugar, cinnamon and any other additions you want to make to your topping. Add just enough water to bring the mix together.
3.Spoon the topping over the apples and put the dish into the oven. Bake for 20 min or so, or until the topping starts to brown. I hope you enjoy this healthy apple crisp recipe, the latest of my healthy vegan recipes.
