Russian Rechauffe

  Canned sliced mushrooms 4 Ounce (1 Can)
  Ground beef round 2 Pound
  Onion 1 Large, chopped
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), minced
  Bacon drippings 2 Tablespoon
  Tomato sauce 3⁄4 Can (7.5 oz) (Or 1 Small Can)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Worcestershire sauce 1 Tablespoon
  Cornstarch 1 Tablespoon
  Cooking sherry 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sour cream 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cooked rice 5 Cup (80 tbs)

Drain the mushrooms, reserving the liquid.
Brown the beef, onion and garlic in bacon drippings, then add the mushrooms, tomato sauce, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce.
Simmer for 1 hour.
Mix the cornstarch with the reserved mushroom liquid and stir into the skillet.
Simmer for 30 minutes longer, then add the sherry and sour cream and serve over rice.
