Beat egg whites until almost stiff.
Sift cream of tartar over whites and blend.
Gradually add sugar and continue beating until mixture is very stiff.
Fold in cracker crumbs and nuts.
Pile lightly in buttered 9-inch pie pan.
Bake in slow oven (275Â°F.) 45 to 60 minutes.
Cut in wedges and serve with ice cream and berries.
