Spicy Swiss Steak

Ingredients
  Salt 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground allspice 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Beef round steak 2 Pound (about 1 inch thick)
  All purpose flour 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Shortening/Salad oil 3 Tablespoon
  Onion 1 Medium, minced
  Peeled chopped tomatoes 3 Cup (48 tbs) (fresh or canned)
Directions

Rub salt, allspice, and pepper well into steak.
Dredge meat with flour.
Pound in flour with edge of a plate.
Heat shortening in heavy casserole.
Brown meat quickly in hot fat on both sides.
Add onion and tomatoes.
Cover and bake in preheated moderate oven (350°F.) for about 1 1/2 hours, or until meat is tender.
Check occasionally for moisture.
If necessary add a little hot water, bouillon, or more tomato to prevent sticking.
