Swedish Meatballs With Applesauce

Ingredients
  Ground beef 2 Pound
  Pepper 1
  Bread crumbs 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Milk 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Applesauce 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Onion 1 Teaspoon, minced
  Nutmeg 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Butter 3 Tablespoon
Directions

Combine ingredients except butter, mix well and form into 48 small balls.
Brown in butter, then add water to simmer (about 2 cups).
Cook, covered, for 15 minutes.
Serve over rice or noodles.
These freeze well and can be made smaller to use as hors d'oeuvres.
