Pecan Nut Meringues

Ingredients
  Egg whites 3
  Cream of tartar 1 Pinch
  Granulated sugar 250 Milliliter (1 cup)
  Chopped pecans 165 Milliliter (2/3 cup)
  Saltine crackers 20 , crushed
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Cornstarch 1 Teaspoon
  Pecans 1 Tablespoon (extra)
  Whipping cream 125 Milliliter, whipped (1/2 cup)
Directions

Whisk egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff.
Gradually add sugar.
Beat until stiff.
Fold in chopped pecans, crushed crackers and vanilla.
Lightly dust baking sheet with cornstarch.
Drop mixture by tablespoonfuls 3 inches (7.5 cm) apart on baking sheet, spread out to 2 inch (5 cm) circles.
Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 30 minutes.
Transfer to serving plate.
Allow to cool and decorate with nuts and whipped cream.
