Western Chili Casserole
|Ground beef||1 Pound|
|Onion||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
|Celery||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), chopped|
|Canned chili con carne||15 Ounce (With Beans)|
|Corn chips||2 Cup (32 tbs), crushed|
|Shredded sharp processed cheese||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Brown meat; add 3/4 cup of onion and the celery; cook till just tender.
Drain off excess fat.
Add chili and pepper; heat.
Place layer of chips in ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole.
Alternate layers of chili mixture, chips, and cheese, reserving 1/2 cup chips and 1/4 cup cheese for trim.
Sprinkle center with reserved cheese and onion.
Cover and bake at 350° for 10 minutes or till hot through.
To serve, border casserole with corn chips.
