Ingredients
  Almond paste 8 Ounce (1 Can)
  Egg 1
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  All purpose flour 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Butter/Margarine 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Ice water 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
  Egg yolk 1
Directions

Combine almond paste, egg, and sugar; mix well and chill.
Stir together flour and salt.
Cut butter into flour till mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add ice water, a tablespoon at a time, stirring till dough is well moistened.
Shape into ball; cover and let stand 30 minutes.
Divide dough into three parts.
Roll each part on lightly floured surface to 8-inch square.
Cut each square into four 8x2-inch strips.
For each of the 12 strips roll about 1 tablespoon almond paste mixture into an 8-inch rope.
Moisten dough edges with water.
Close dough over filling; seal edges and ends.
Form into S shapes.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Combine egg yolk and 1 tablespoon water; brush on letters.
Bake at 375° for 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool.
