Mock Apricot Filled Danish Pastry

Ingredients
  Canned refrigerator crescent rolls 8 Ounce (1 Can)
  Melted butter/Margarine 2 Tablespoon
  Apricot preserves 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar To Taste
Directions

Unroll package of crescent roll dough on a lightly greased 15 1/2 x 12-inch baking sheet.
Shape dough into a rectangle, pressing perforations together with fingertips.
Brush with melted butter.
Spread preserves lengthwise down center of rectangle in a 3-i
