|Margarine||5 Tablespoon, softened (Acceptable)|
|Chopped fresh basil||1 Tablespoon|
|Salt free lemon pepper seasoning||3⁄4 Teaspoon|
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Cut bread into sixteen slices.
In a small bowl, combine margarine, basil and lemon-pepper seasoning.
Spread mixture evenly on each slice.
Wrap loaf in foil and place on a baking sheet.
Bake 15 minutes.
SAVORY BREAD WITH CHILI SPREAD In place of basil and lemon-pepper seasoning, add the following to the margarine: 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon crushed dried cilantro, and a dash of both garlic powder and hot pepper sauce.
SAVORY BREAD WITH GREEN ONION SPREAD In place of basil, add the following to the margarine and lemon-pepper seasoning: 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onion and 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley.
