Swedish Chuck Stew

Ingredients
  Boneless chuck roast 3 1⁄2 Pound (About 2 Inch Thick)
  Shortening 2 Tablespoon
  Condensed cream of mushroom soup 21 Ounce (Two 10 1/2 Ounce Cans)
  Sour cream 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Paprika 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper To Taste
  Medium carrots 1 Pound, halved
  Whole white onions 1 Pound (Small)
  Cooked wide noodles 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Trim fat from meat and cut into 1-inch cubes.
In large heavy pan, brown beef in shortening; pour off fat.
Add soup, sour cream, water, paprika, and pepper.
Cover; cook over low heat 1 hour.
Stir now and then.
Add vegetables.
Cover; cook over low heat 1 hour more or until meat and vegetables are tender.
Stir now and then.
