Fried Cornmeal Mush
|Water||4 Cup (64 tbs) (Divided)|
|Cornmeal||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Maple syrup||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Boil 3 cups water.
Combine remaining water with cornmeal and salt; add to boiling water.
Stir until mixture returns to a boil.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occassionally.
Pour into a greased 8-1/2-in.x 4-1/2-in.x 2-1/2-in.loaf pan.
Chill for 8 hours or overnight.
Slice 1/2 in.thick.
Fry in a greased skillet until browned on each side.
