You might know Julkage as Julkake or Yule Bread. This is the prefect Norwegian holiday bread which is made during Christmas. Try this deliciously candied bread with fruit and nuts and tell me if you like them. Your suggestions for this Julkage are welcome.
  Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Sourdough starter 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Unsalted butter 2 Tablespoon, melted
  Honey 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground cardamom 1 Teaspoon
  Golden raisins 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Chopped mixed candied fruit 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chopped pecans 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Candied cherries 1 Tablespoon
  Pecan halves icing 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Confectioners sugar 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Milk 1 Tablespoon
  Vanilla extract/Almond extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon

1 Combine 1/2 cup flour, sourdough starter, butter, honey, salt, and cardamom in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly.
2 Combine enough remaining flour to make a soft dough. Knead on lightly floured surface until smooth€”about 10 minutes.
3 Place in greased bowl, turning to coat top. Cover; let rise in warm place until double€”about 1 hour.
4 Punch down dough. Knead in raisins, candied fruit, and chopped pecans. Cover; let rest for 10 minutes.
5 Shape dough into a round ball and place on greased baking sheet. Cover; let rise until double€”about 45 minutes.
6 Bake in a preheated 350°F oven 40 minutes or until done. Cool on wire rack.
7 Combine confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla or almond extract. Frost loaf; decorate with candied cherries and pecan halves.
