|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Heavy cream||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Beat the egg whites to a peak.
Continue to brat while gradually adding the sugar.
Mix the baking powder with the last tablespoon of the sugar and beat well into the meringue mixture.
Put out in teaspoonfuls on ungreased baking sheets, leaving an inch between each meringue, and bake at 250° for 1 1/4 hours.
Reduce heat if necessary.
Meringues are prettier if they are a faint beige color rather than pure white.
